The Festival has been committed for several editions to promoting environmental sustainability through the screening of films that deal with environmental issues and the relationship between nature and territory in relation to human civilization and also through concrete actions raises awareness of environmental and social sustainability. During 2022, AFIC (Associazione Festival Italiani di Cinema) developed the Green Festival Guidelines, which take inspiration from and include some of these good practices, providing tools to improve and expand them.

SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY

The Festival seeks to raise awareness among staff, guests and the public about promoting sustainable mobility for enjoying the evenings. It is recommended to arrive by public transport, then move on foot or by bicycle: those arriving by train, bus or bike will receive a free Euganea Film Festival gadget! An e-bike rental service is active for the entire duration of the event, both for guests and the public.

SUSTAINABLE ENERGY CONSUMPTION

All screenings are made with Solar Cinema, an exclusive project by Euganea: a van with solar panels on the roof that, through an inverter and batteries, accumulates clean energy for the realization of outdoor screenings in complete energy autonomy. The Festival offsets emissions by planting new trees every year with the Wow Nature project!

PRINTING OF MATERIALS

To avoid paper waste, the Festival favors the digital format for communication, information and promotional materials of the event. Printing is made on paper from a certified supply chain

WASTE MANAGEMENT

Throughout the year, the staff and employees separate waste collection and in general the commitment is aimed at reducing waste production as much as possible

GADGET PRODUCTION

For years, useful gadgets with “generic” branding have been made, so that they can be re-proposed year after year.

GUEST MANAGEMENT

This year the goal is to encourage, where possible, shared transportation for guests' travel to the various locations planned, always suggesting the most ecological option for moving between the Hills.

FOOD SUSTAINABILITY

All the food and wine partners of the Festival are local producers, drinks and food will be served using biodegradable glasses and plates.
