The current castle of Este was built in the years 1339-1340, on the initiative of the Lord of Padua Ubertino da Carrara. With a wall perimeter about 1000 m long, defended by 14 towers (now reduced to 12) and lying on the slopes of Mount Murale, this fortress has actually replaced the first castle, that of the Marquis of Este, built on the hill area since the eleventh century and seriously damaged by the wars of '200 and '300. In the fourteenth century, after having incorporated the flat area to the south and east of the original nucleus, the castle of Carrara housed in its interior troop quarters, armories, stables, perhaps even homes, remaining separated from the village of Este through the channel Sirone that ran along the current Via G. Negri. The castle, with its two "maistre" towers, the one at the top and the one at the Porta del Soccorso (which opens towards Baone), remained intact for over two centuries, until it was purchased by the powerful Venetian Mocenigo family in the second half of the 16th century. The inland area, instead, now devoid of any military use, already after the Venetian conquest at the beginning of the 15th century began to undergo changes in use, with the planting of orchards, the cultivation of part of the land and even the construction of small houses to house the "fittavoli". Between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, under the ownership of the Mocenigo family, a vast garden was created, extending as far as the foothills on either side of a scenic staircase. The sculptures still visible today on the southern side of the castle date back to this period. A devastating fire in 1785 caused the destruction of the east wing of the Venetian palace; in the first half of the 19th century the whole complex was bought by the Trieste family, and then passed to the Da Zara brothers, who in 1887 sold it to the Municipality. Once it became public property, the monument changed its use again: the surviving wing of Palazzo Mocenigo was chosen as the prestigious seat of the city's archaeological museum (which later became the national museum), while the north-eastern area of the Carrarese castle was used as the Foro Boario, i.e. the place for the cattle market. The eighteenth-century park underwent a radical transformation in the years 1914-15, when it was decided to resitemare the green area, already used as a public garden. The works involved the demolition of the steep Venetian staircase and the creation of sloping terraces. This is how the Italian gardens as we know them today take shape, with orderly avenues and geometric flowerbeds, which preserve several centuries-old plants. The most noteworthy are the monumental wisteria (which overlooks the secondary door on the south side of the walls) and some specimens of cedars of Lebanon and the Himalayas.&nbsp;

*Al fiume!* (To the River!) is a collective writing workshop led by **Marco Gnaccolini** and **Raffaele Pizzatti Sertorelli** for **Atlante delle Rive**, aimed at participants aged 18 to 39. It is produced by **Jolefilm** in collaboration with the Euganea Film Festival and promoted by **acquevenete**.

This collaborative writing workshop combines storytelling, ecology, and role-playing to explore the relationship between humans and the environment through the lens of water management. Participants will collectively construct the story of a river—from its source to its mouth—traversing landscapes, transformations, and conflicts.

The workshop is conceived as a shared writing experience that blends storytelling, ecology, and role-playing. It stems from the idea of ​​creating a collaborative experience where writing becomes a means to observe, imagine, and discuss water management—and, more broadly, the human-environment relationship—through collective narrative practice. Participants are invited to build a river's story together, following its journey from source to end while navigating landscapes, transformations, and conflicts.

The starting point is a compelling concept: the river is not merely a natural feature but a living system shaped by forces, decisions, and collective imaginings. It is an ecosystem of stories, serving as a tool to examine the territory and its dynamics. In this sense, the project draws loose inspiration from the perspective of the anarchist geographer Élisée Reclus and his work *The Story of a Stream* (*Histoire d'un ruisseau*); here, the watercourse becomes a narrative of the landscape and its relationships, capable of symbolically encapsulating human social and political concerns. **WORKSHOP DATES**

_Al fiume!_ è il laboratorio di scrittura collettiva condotto da **Marco Gnaccolini** e **Raffaele Pizzatti Sertorelli**, rivolto a partecipanti tra i 18 e i 39 anni. 
_Al fiume!_ è un progetto di **Jolefilm**, per **Atlante delle Rive**, realizzato in collaborazione con Euganea Film Festival e promosso da **acquevenete**.

Un laboratorio di scrittura condivisa che unisce narrazione, ecologia e gioco di ruolo per esplorare il rapporto tra esseri umani e ambiente attraverso la gestione delle acque. I partecipanti costruiranno insieme la storia di un fiume, dalla nascita alla foce, attraversando paesaggi, trasformazioni e conflitti. 

Il laboratorio è concepito come un’esperienza di scrittura condivisa che unisce narrazione, ecologia e “gioco di ruolo”. Nasce dall’idea di creare un’esperienza condivisa in cui la scrittura diventa un modo per osservare, immaginare e discutere la gestione delle acque - e, più in generale, il rapporto tra esseri umani e ambiente - attraverso una pratica narrativa collettiva. I/le partecipanti sono chiamati e chiamate a costruire insieme la storia di un fiume, seguendolo dalla sua nascita fino alla sua fine, attraversando paesaggi, trasformazioni e conflitti. 

Il punto di partenza è una suggestione: il fiume non è solo un elemento naturale, ma un sistema vivo, attraversato da forze, decisioni e immaginari; è un ecosistema di storie, in cui il fiume diventa uno strumento per interrogare il territorio e le sue dinamiche. In questo senso, il progetto si ispira liberamente allo sguardo del geografo anarchico Élisée Reclus nel suo Storia di un ruscello, dove il corso d’acqua diventa racconto del territorio e delle sue relazioni, che può racchiudere simbolicamente istanze sociali e politiche degli esseri umani.

An evening of stargazing using optical and digital instruments, featuring celestial orientation and commentary by Marco Bregolato and Luca Nobili from the Padua Planetarium. Stargazing will take place from 9:30 PM to midnight.

During the session, the issues of light pollution and artificial satellite interference will be explained.

Serata di osservazione con strumenti ottici e digitali con orienteering stellare con divulgazione di Marco Bregolato e Luca Nobili del Planetario di Padova. Sarà possibile osservare le stelle dalle 21:30 alle 24:00.

Durante l'osservazione sarà spiegato il problema dell'inquinamento luminoso e da satelliti artificiali.

**Astronomy-themed poetry reading by Luca Tironi**

A journey to (re)discover the universe—a place as fascinating as it is unknown. We will seek answers to existential questions while navigating among planets with almost human personalities, stars of every conceivable color, and black holes capable of defying the laws of physics.

**Luca Tironi** will act as a tour guide through the cosmos; the stops along the way will not be mere stories, but genuine pieces of performance poetry.
The show is suitable for everyone: adults and children, experts and the curious alike. The only prerequisite is imagination.

Luca Tironi is a founding member of the Padua-based poetry collective *Rimescolate* and has been bringing Poetry Slam to audiences everywhere since 2018. He serves as the Veneto regional vice-coordinator for the *Lega Italiana Poetry Slam* (LIPS); he was a regional finalist in Veneto in 2018 and 2019 and served as the MC for the 2019 LIPS National Championships in Ragusa.

**Reading di poesia a tema astronomico di Luca Tironi**

Un viaggio alla (ri)scoperta di quel luogo tanto affascinante quanto sconosciuto che è l’universo. Si andrà in cerca di risposte a quesiti esistenziali navigando tra pianeti dal carattere quasi umano, stelle dai colori più disparati e buchi neri in grado di infrangere ogni legge fisica.

**Luca Tironi** farà da guida turistica all’interno del cosmo e le tappe del percorso non saranno semplici racconti, ma veri e propri pezzi di poesia performativa.
Lo spettacolo è adatto a tutti: grandi e piccoli, esperti e curiosi. L’unica competenza richiesta è la fantasia.

Luca Tironi è membro fondatore del collettivo poetico padovano _Rimescolate_, dal 2018 porta il Poetry Slam ovunque venga accolto. È vicecoordinatore veneto per la _Lega Italiana Poetry Slam_ (LIPS), è stato finalista regionale veneto nel 2018 e nel 2019 ed è stato mc ai campionati nazionali LIPS 2019 di Ragusa.

Presentation and screening of the investigative report _Acqua in bocca_ by Marianna Donadio and Dora Farina (Italy, 23 min)—winner of the 2025 Libera Giovani Award and a video investigation finalist for the 2025 Morrione Award, produced under the supervision of Cecilia Anesi.

Mara Filippi Morrione, spokesperson for the Roberto Morrione Award for Investigative Journalism, and Marianna Donadio will participate in the presentation.

Despite condemnations by the United Nations, the Israeli national water company Mekorot has established itself as a global leader in the sector. In recent years, several companies have terminated their agreements with Mekorot, following reports from numerous NGOs denouncing the exploitation of water resources in the occupied Palestinian territories. In contrast, Acea—a public water utility 51% controlled by the City of Rome—is the only company that has not withdrawn from the agreement signed with Mekorot in 2013. Requests for access to the relevant documents have proven futile; the text remains inaccessible to this day.

Nonostante le denunce delle Nazioni Unite, l’azienda idrica nazionale israeliana Mekorot si è affermata come leader mondiale nel settore. Negli ultimi anni diverse imprese hanno interrotto i propri accordi con Mekorot, sulla base dei report di numerose Ong che hanno denunciato lo sfruttamento delle risorse idriche nei territori palestinesi occupati. Acea, azienda pubblica di gestione idrica controllata al 51% da Roma Capitale, è invece l’unica a non aver fatto un passo indietro rispetto all’accordo siglato con Mekorot nel 2013. Inutili le richieste di accesso agli atti: il testo rimane tutt’oggi inaccessibile.

Premio Roberto Morrione

Built by the Venetian Pasqualigo family in the 16th century, Villa Rodella was acquired in the late 19th century by the Rodella family, originally from Asiago.
Comprising the main residence and a large *barchessa* (an arcaded outbuilding), Villa Rodella spans two floors plus a cellar level, covering a total area of ​​nearly 2,000 square meters—including a family chapel. It is set within a vast 1.3-hectare park in the heart of the Euganean Hills Regional Park.
After standing abandoned for ten years, the villa was granted under concession in 2025 by the State Property Agency (the current owner) to Fondazione Essenziale ETS. The gradual reopening of the premises began in May 2026, with the garden opened to the public on Sundays, and will continue throughout 2027.

**ACCESSIBILITY**
The 2026 event will take place in the villa's outdoor spaces, with gravel paths and lawn areas.

Over the centuries, the Euganean Hills have maintained a significant tradition of viticulture.
This tradition has provided economic support for local residents while simultaneously helping to preserve a landscape defined by harmony, color, grace, and refinement. Contrasting with this harmonious quality is the area's volcanic nature—partially hidden from view—which lends the landscape a rugged, fascinating, unsettling, and wild character. Poets have often focused on these contrasts; reading literary excerpts from both ancient and modern authors allows one to grasp a significant aspect of the Euganean landscape.

The conversation will be introduced by **Beatrice Damiani**, Vice President of the Fondazione Essenziale ETS. The discussion will feature:
**Elisa Stocchiero**, Sommelier and Wine & Beer Educator. She has worked in the wine industry for over 12 years, collaborating with Euganean Hills wineries and organizing events, tastings, and educational projects dedicated to the world of wine.
**Paolo Gobbi**, born in Marostica in 1957 and a resident of Padua. He is the author of numerous books about the region and serves as president of the *Parco Letterario® Francesco Petrarca e dei Colli Euganei* (Francesco Petrarca and Euganean Hills Literary Park) cultural association, which is part of the *Parchi Letterari®* network.

The experience features four artisanal products, selected to showcase how fermentation can transform and elevate various raw materials, creating unique flavor profiles.

Un incontro tra botaniche e frutta rossa, dove le note floreali dell’ibisco si integrano con la freschezza del lampone, creando un profilo aromatico equilibrato e armonioso.

Villa Pisani is located in the historic center of Monselice next to the "Bisatto", a canal connecting Padua and Montagnana, once navigable. The edifice was built in the XVI century for Francesco Pisani di Zuanne (1514-1567), a noble patrician of Venice, who used it as a country house, a dwelling to stop by on the occasion of his frequent travels from and to Montagnana, where the wealthy family resided.

Exhibition of cartoons by **Mauro Biani** for the Roberto Morrione Prize investigations

The exhibition features 36 cartoons created by Mauro Biani from 2018 to the present for the Roberto Morrione Prize. This journalism competition is open to those under 30 and focuses on key issues in the political, social, economic, and cultural life of Italy and Europe—ranging from legality and human and civil rights to technological development, environmental protection, and economic activities.

An event presenting the exhibition with the artist Mauro Biani will be held at Villa Pisani on **Friday, September 4**, at **6:30 PM**.

The exhibition will be open from August 31 to September 6 during the following hours:

Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
Wednesdays and Fridays: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Saturdays and Sundays: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

La mostra si compone di 36 vignette realizzate da Mauro Biani dal 2018 a oggi per il Premio Roberto Morrione, concorso giornalistico riservato a under 30 e dedicato ai temi centrali della vita politica, sociale, economica e culturale dell’Italia e dell’Europa: dalla legalità ai diritti umani e civili, dallo sviluppo tecnologico alla tutela dell’ambiente, fino alle attività economiche. 

Venerdì 4 settembre alle ore 18:30 si terrà un incontro di presentazione della mostra con l'autore Mauro Biani, presso Villa Pisani.

La mostra si terrà presso Villa Pisani e sarà visitabile dal 31 agosto al 6 settembre con i seguenti orari:

Il graffio poetico

A selection of three short films showcasing ten years of the **Landscape Videomaking** workshop—part of the Master’s Degree Program in Landscape Sciences at the University of Padua—an educational journey that explores the documentary as a tool for interpreting and narrating the landscape. The program features *Bardo* by Stefano Capodieci (2024), *Hic Sunt Leones* by Berenice Rivolta and Laura Montanari (2018), and *Laboratori dell’esistenza* by Vivien Generale (2025).

Una selezione di tre cortometraggi per raccontare i dieci anni del laboratorio **Landscape Videomaking** del Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Scienze per il Paesaggio dell’Università di Padova, un percorso didattico che esplora il documentario come strumento di lettura e narrazione del paesaggio. In programma _Bardo_ di Stefano Capodieci (2024), _Hic Sunt Leones_ di Berenice Rivolta e Laura Montanari (2018) e _Laboratori dell’esistenza_ di Vivien Generale (2025).


Camera con Vista - The Best of Landscape Videomaking 2026

Il meraviglioso Parco Buzzaccarini è un cuore verde di circa 35.000 mq, situato nel centro della cittadina di Monselice, sempre aperto ad ingresso gratuito. **Carlos Casas**, a filmmaker and visual artist, leads a masterclass dedicated to his research methodology, in which image and sound serve as tools to unlock new ways of perceiving reality.

His works originate in natural landscapes and environments that are marginal or literally unexplored, transforming them into spaces of experience where less visible relationships between the human and non-human worlds are revealed. By engaging with "other" territories, Casas creates audiovisual works that transfigure reality in pursuit of the sublime, grappling with the mystery and unsettling nature of the natural world.

This event offers an opportunity to gain deeper insight into his hybrid, multimedia practice—situated at the intersection of documentary, fiction, and visual art—and to explore how audiovisual language becomes a tool for understanding. It is a meeting with one of the most significant figures in contemporary audiovisual research, held as part of the **Euganea Film Residency** program and open to the public.

**Carlos Casas**, regista e visual artist, conduce una masterclass dedicata al suo metodo di ricerca, in cui immagine e sonoro diventano strumenti per aprire nuove forme di percezione del reale. 

Le sue opere prendono avvio da territori del mondo naturale e da ambienti marginali o letteralmente inesplorati, trasformandoli in spazi di esperienza in cui si rivelano relazioni meno visibili tra umano e non umano sulla Terra. Attraverso l’incontro con territori “altri”, Casas costruisce opere audiovisive in cui il reale viene trasfigurato alla ricerca del sublime, confrontandosi con il mistero e le inquietudini della natura. 

Un’opportunità per approfondire la sua pratica ibrida e multimediale, posizionata tra documentario, finzione e visual art, e il modo in cui il linguaggio audiovisivo diventa strumento di conoscenza. **Bolzano Film Festival Bozen, Euganea Film Festival, and Pordenone Docs Fest**—in collaboration with the film commissions and audiovisual funds of the Triveneto region—are organizing the 4th edition of Nord/Est/Doc/Camp. This is a consultancy and mentoring workshop designed for mid-length and feature-length documentaries produced in Northeast Italy.

Nord/Est/Doc/Camp offers a multi-stage program of feedback, networking, and training across the partner festivals in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Trentino-Alto Adige, and Veneto. It connects filmmakers and producers with selected experts in an informal setting through a series of targeted meetings and workshops aimed at maximizing the potential of films-in-progress—covering everything from editing and post-production to festival strategies and distribution—with the goal of strengthening the projects' profiles and narrative structures while expanding their reach and distribution prospects.

The four documentaries participating in Nord/Est/Doc/Camp 2026 are: *Rage Rage Against The Dying Of The Light* by Nuno Escudeiro, *Mia sorella è un pirata* by Jacopo Mutti, *Quando è pronto, il fieno canta* by Letizia Buoso, and *Sonic Silence* by Alessandro Ambroggi and Ludovico Chincarini.

The third and final stage of the fourth edition of Nord/Est/Doc/Camp will take place in Monselice during the Euganea Film Festival on **August 28 and 29.** It features a two-phase workshop: **the first day is open to producers, filmmakers, and industry professionals** from the Triveneto region—even those without a specific project—offering a free training opportunity where everyone can attend presentations and ask questions; **the second day is reserved for the producers and directors of the four projects selected** for Nord/Est/Doc/Camp 2026, who will consult with mentors on the completion and future of their documentaries, specifically addressing issues such as festival strategy, sales and rights, audience design, and distribution. Nord/Est/Doc/Camp is supported by the IDM Film & Music Commission Südtirol, Trentino Film Commission, Veneto Film Commission, and Friuli Venezia Giulia Film Commission, with the collaboration of the FVG Audiovisual Fund.

I quattro esperti ospiti di questa edizione saranno: _Alice Arecco_, responsabile delle attività industry di Milano Film Network e Bergamo Film Meeting, consulente della programmazione di TFI Torino Film Industry; _Maria Bonsanti_, già direttrice del festival Cinéma du réel di Parigi e del programma di formazione Eurodoc, attualmente membro del comitato di selezione delle Giornate degli Autori; _Alessandro Del Re_, ex co-direttore di Lago Film Fest e 30_70 DOC FEST, già programmatore di Pordenone Docs Fest, attualmente Senior Programming Manager di MUBI Italia e preselezionatore per la Mostra del Cinema di Venezia; _Cosimo Santoro_, già programmatore di festival e responsabile di acquisizioni per la distribuzione in sala e online, fondatore nel 2012 della società di vendite internazionali The Open Reel.

Before the Hollywood diaspora, a group of young German filmmakers (including future noir masters Robert Siodmak and Edgar G. Ulmer, alongside Billy Wilder and Fred Zinnemann) created an extraordinary collaboration: _People on Sunday_ (Menschen am Sonntag). 

Set in Berlin during the Weimar Republic, the film follows a day of leisure in the lives of two men and two women spending a Sunday outside the city. Starring non-professional actors and experimenting with the codes of hybrid cinema, _People on Sunday_ captures the spirit of the time with remarkable freshness, becoming a work that would influence generations of filmmakers.

For the opening event of the twenty-fifth edition of Euganea Film Festival, **Krano** (composer of the soundtrack for _The Last One for the Road_ and winner of the David di Donatello Award for Best Original Score for _Ti_) will create a new live soundtrack for the film, in an original production by the Festival.

Robert Siodmak (1900–1973) was a German filmmaker. He emigrated to the United States in the 1930s and is best remembered for his thrillers and for the series of film noirs he directed in Hollywood during the 1940s.

Edgar G. Ulmer (1904–1972) was an Austrian-born filmmaker. He directed cult films such as _The Black Cat_ (1934) and _Detour_ (1945).

Krano is a singer-songwriter and composer. In 2026, he received the David di Donatello Award for Best Original Song for _Ti_, featured in Francesco Sossai’s _The Last One for the Road (Le città di pianura)_, for which he composed the original score.

Prima della dispora hollywoodiana, un gruppo di giovani cineasti tedeschi (i futuri maestri del noir Robert Siodmak ed Edgar G. Ulmer, insieme a Billy Wilder e Fred Zinnemann) diede vita a una collaborazione irripetibile: _Uomini di domenica_.

Following the success of last year’s edition, this year the first day of Nord/Est/Doc/Camp, Friday, September 12,  will once again be open to producers, authors, and professionals from the Triveneto area, even without a selected project.
This will be a free training opportunity where everyone will have the chance to attend expert presentations and ask questions.

The four professionals available to participants will be: Festival strategy: Daniela Persico, Artistic Director of the Bellaria Film Festival, programmer and Head of Special Projects at the Locarno Film Festival. Sales and rights: Tommaso Priante, former collaborator with some of the leading European documentary sales agents and founder of the international sales agency Luminalia. Distribution: Maud Corino, with over 15 years of experience in theatrical and online distribution, currently Head of Distribution at ZaLab Film. Audience design: Greta Nordio, an international expert in audience design since 2015, working as a consultant and trainer, notably with the TorinoFilmLab.

Participation in the Nord/Est/Doc/Camp 2025 open training day is free of charge.

The Euganean Hills Museum is a unique institution in the Euganean Hills area. It was born from the donations of the citizens of Galzignano, who have passed down ancient and beautiful objects from generation to generation. The museum tells the story of the millennia-old relationship between humans and nature within the stunning setting of the Euganean Hills Natural Park.

Presentation and screening of the investigative reportage _Esotici fuori luogo_ by Francesca Sapio and Caterina Tarquini (Italy, 20’), finalist for the 2024 Morrione Prize – Video Investigation category, created under the supervision of Sara Segatori.
Esotici fuori luogo investigates the trade of exotic animals in Italy, where apparent legality often hides a shadowy and opaque system. Tropical birds, venomous spiders, small rodents: rarity, unusual plumage or coloring dictate their market value. Behind trade fairs and online purchases lies a trafficking network that exploits regulatory loopholes and inadequate controls, fueling a business that endangers biodiversity, public health, and the balance of ecosystems.

_Esotici fuori luogo_ indaga il commercio degli animali esotici in Italia, dove l’apparente legalità spesso cela un sistema sommerso e opaco. Uccelli tropicali, ragni velenosi, piccoli roditori: a dettare il valore di mercato è la rarità, l’unicità del piumaggio o del colore. Dietro le fiere di settore e gli acquisti online si muove un traffico che sfrutta lacune normative e controlli insufficienti, alimentando un giro d'affari che mette a rischio la biodiversità, la salute pubblica e l’equilibrio degli ecosistemi.


This is one of the largest hillside parks in Veneto, belonging to a single property. Its forest territory extends for 32 hectares including both the neo-Gothic Villa and the rustic outbuildings restored by the Municipality of Montegrotto Terme a few years ago. The Park and the Villa are located on the slope of one of the hundred hills that characterize the Euganean Hills, 10 km from Padua and 40 km from Venice. The rustic outbuildings are located on the slopes of Monte Alto and at the entrance of the Regional Park of the Euganean Hills.

Journalist and author Sabrina Giannini meets the audience to share her work and commitment to raising awareness on social sustainability, legality, and environmental and food education. On this occasion, she will be awarded the Parco Colli Euganei Prize, a recognition given to individuals who stand out for their contributions to environmental and social causes.

Sabrina Giannini is an investigative journalist and TV author. She worked for over a decade on Report (Rai3), producing inquiries into the environment, health, food, and human rights. Since 2016, she has been the creator and host of Indovina chi viene a cena, a program focused on environmental sustainability and food transparency.

Sabrina Giannini è una giornalista investigativa e autrice televisiva. Ha lavorato per oltre un decennio con Report (Rai3), firmando inchieste su ambiente, salute, alimentazione e diritti. Dal 2016 è ideatrice e conduttrice del programma _Indovina chi viene a cena_, dedicato ai temi della sostenibilità ambientale e della trasparenza alimentare. The Euganea Film Festival pays tribute to Maura Delpero with a retrospective dedicated to her filmography. The director will be a guest at the Festival on Sunday, September 7, for a meeting with the public.

Winner of the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival and greeted by solid box office results last season, _Vermiglio_ (2024) has won over critics and audiences alike, placing its author, Maura Delpero, at the center of Italian and international cinema discourse—and propelling the film into the Golden Globe race.
The reasons for this success, which only through carelessness could be considered unexpected, can be found in the consistent trajectory of a director who, in just a handful of works, has been able to refine a singularly profound and clear vision: Delpero's humanist cinema thrives on the fertile dialogue between an almost ethnographic approach and a joyful immediacy of filmic syntax, whether in documentary or fiction cinema.
Delpero's stories follow women and men in their relationships with each other and with their surroundings, with a special focus on the microcosm of mountain communities, from her debut _Moglie e buoi dei paesi tuoi_ (2006) to _Vermiglio_.
The Euganea Film Festival, which in past editions presciently presented _Signori professori_ (2008) and _Nadea e Sveta_ (2012), pays tribute to the Bolzano-born director in its 24th edition with a rich retrospective of her works.

Vincitore del Leone d’argento alla Mostra del Cinema di Venezia, salutato da un solido riscontro al botteghino della passata stagione, _Vermiglio_ (2024) ha messo d’accordo critica e pubblico, posizionando la sua autrice, Maura Delpero, al centro del discorso cinematografico italiano e internazionale – spingendo il film sino in corsa ai Golden Globe.
Le ragioni di questo successo, che solo per disattenzione si potrebbe giudicare inatteso, vanno ricercate nella parabola coerente di una regista che, in appena una manciata di opere, ha saputo affinare uno sguardo di singolare profondità e limpidezza: il cinema umanista di Delpero vive del fertile dialogo tra una ricerca quasi etnografica nel suo incedere e una felice immediatezza della sintassi filmica, si tratti di cinema documentario o di finzione.
Le storie di Delpero inseguono donne e uomini nel rapportarsi fra loro e con l’ambiente circostante, dove un’attenzione speciale è portata sul microcosmo delle comunità montane, dall’esordio _Moglie e buoi dei paesi tuoi_ (2006) a _Vermiglio_.
Euganea Film Festival, che nelle passate edizioni ha con preveggenza presentato _Signori professori_ (2008) e _Nadea e Sveta_ (2012), per la 24ª edizione omaggia la regista bolzanina con una ricca retrospettiva delle sue opere.
