Through the memories and daily lives of four characters, Boreana reveals the deeper soul of the island of Burano and its surrounding lagoon. Island life—past and present—the evolution of fishing, art, music, theatre, and the relationship with tourism emerge in a collective narrative that gives voice to a fragile yet vibrant territory. An intimate portrait that sheds light on the lesser-known Burano, beyond the postcard image, rediscovering its cultural and environmental roots.
