The house lies in ruins, devastated by the passage of a hurricane. In this spectral space, only indecipherable words remain, fragmented memories, and the traces of a dream that emerged shortly after the death of the father. Developed in a workshop led by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Mel Nocetti engages with the intangible and constructs a sensorial, immersive dimension in which memory blends with the oneiric. I Used to Call That Man Home thus becomes a fragile atmospheric territory, in constant dissolution, where the presence of ghosts reminds us of the very precariousness of remembering.
Mel (Melissa) Nocetti is a Mexican director of photography. I Used to Call That Man Home had its premiere in the Prelude section at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR).
