Synopsis

Based on Raymond Briggs’s 1982 graphic novel, this animation is set in the peaceful English countryside and follows retired couple Jim and Hilda Bloggs, who, armed with trusted government instructions, prepare for an imminent nuclear attack. However, their faith in official leaflets clashes with the real horror of destruction, blending dark humor and despair. With original music by David Bowie and Roger Waters, the film exposes the absurdity of nuclear war and the failure of authorities. The most vulnerable, including the environment, always pay the price.
