La montagna, con gli altri occhi - Marco Albino Ferrari

13 settembre 2025

La montagna, con altri occhi. Ridisegnare le terre alte is a «catalogue of mountain knowledge» composed of eighteen thematic stops, from mountain huts to glaciers, forests to alpine farming, ending with the final entry: Care. Each entry stands alone yet intertwines with the others, forming a fluid, interdisciplinary journey that invites us to view the mountain not as a static backdrop, but as a dynamic physical and mental universe. Edited by Marco Albino Ferrari and Mauro Varotto, it is the first volume in the L’AltraMontagna series by People publishing.

Marco Albino Ferrari is one of the most authoritative voices in mountain italian culture. In the 1990s, he was editor-in-chief of the magazine «Alp». In 2002, he conceived and then directed for many years «Meridiani Montagne». He served as editorial director and head of the Culture Department of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI). He has contributed to La Stampa and other publications. He made his literary debut in 1996 with Frêney 1961, republished several times (currently by Ponte alle Grazie). Mia sconosciuta (Ponte alle Grazie, 2020), a finalist for the Premio Strega, won the Itas Prize. He has curated exhibitions, museum installations, and book series. He tours Italy with several theatrical monologues. With Einaudi, he has published In viaggio sulle Alpi (2009), Assalto alle Alpi (2023), and La montagna che vogliamo. Un manifesto (2025), and edited the anthology Racconti di pareti e scalatori (2011).

The event will take place on Saturday, September 13 at 6:00 PM at Villa Pisani, Monselice.
